How Kabana style numbers work
Every Kabana item number is readable left to right. Six parts, each from a fixed code table. Getting this right is what makes the variant picker, the image pipeline and the price list all line up.

Style number
Three digits, 001 to 999. They identify the design and never change between variants of the same piece. The digits are not sequential by collection — use the collection field in the spreadsheet, never the number, to group products.
Rules that affect the build
One design, many item numbers
The three digits in the middle are the design, 001 to 999. Everything around them describes how that design was made. NPIF036MW and NPIF036T are the same pendant in two different stones — on the website they are one product with variants, not two products.
The stone code follows the style digits
No slash, no space. NPIF036 + MBP = NPIF036MBP. The only separator we use is the hyphen before an addition such as -CH.
The complete item number is the image filename
Photos must be named with the full item number including the stone code — NPIF036MBP-CH.jpg. A filename with only the base style can't be matched to a variant and will be rejected by our catalog system.
-CH means the chain is included
For pendants, the -CH version ships with its chain and is the option we lead with on the website. The same pendant without -CH is the same piece, chain sold separately, and should appear as a secondary option on the same product page — never as its own product. For rings the addition is the size: 5 to 10 women's, 9 to 12 men's.
Metal is a variant too
Within a gold-family style, the prefix can identify 14 kt gold, 18 kt gold or platinum. Metal and stone are independent option axes, but only within that style's family.
Gold and silver have separate style numbers
A silver design does not share the style number of a gold design. Gold items cannot be made in silver, and silver items cannot be made in gold. Never create a silver variant by changing a gold prefix to S or GS, or a gold variant by changing a silver prefix.

If a code isn't in these tables, it isn't valid. Don't invent stone or metal codes to fill gaps — send them back to us.
